If money is so tight, why do you keep increasing employees? Why don't you put that money towards roads?
Early in my first term, I agreed with my fellow commissioners that Park County needed an Emergency Manager. This is a position that floated between many entities and many people. After a lengthy interview process, we hired an Emergency Manager who was dedicated solely to that job. The State picks up half of the salary. Prior to filling this position, the county was out of compliance in certain areas. This is no longer the case. Also, our Emergency Manager has brought over $1 million into the county in forms of grants for much needed equipment. This position has the full support of all emergency agencies within the county.
Why do you want to be a Commissioner for a second term?
It would be an honor for me to serve the constituents of Park County for one more term. I have done a good job over the past 3 1/2 years as a County Commissioner, fine tuning my leadership skills to enable me to serve effectively for the next 4 years. I have a working knowledge of what the position entails and I believe that the continuity that my experience would bring, combined with knowledge of the county, my integrity and my commitment to working with the public, Chambers of Commerce and businesses within the community as well as working co-operatively with my fellow commissioners to promote Park County's interests, makes me an asset to this county. It would also be in the best interest of Park County to have someone who is familiar with current projects that could represent those visions and goals and take them into their final stages of completion.
